Highlights of the weekend were the strong pack marking of Tremayne Chatfield from Mogo and the danger posed by Nathan Sebire from Ulladulla whenever the ball was in the centre square.
Mitch Stahlhut from Bay and Basin showed his class at centre half forward.
Liam Scott from Bomaderry proved a good team man and played out of position. Harry Shannon for Batemans Bay kicked plenty of goals.
Coach Phil Kennedy was more than happy and impressed by his team.
“On paper we had no right to make the semi-final and get so close. We were against teams that are supported by academies and train together regularly,” he said.
“The Shoalhaven boys are to be congratulated for their strength in character, their mateship and their sportsmanship.”
