Police said Greg Hill suffered severe head and spinal injuries
and a cardiac arrest in the June 3 accident.
Paramedics performed CPR at the scene and Mr Hill was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Police said the man had reversed his Toyota utility into the area used to dispose of rubbish.
It is thought he stood on the rear of the ute to unload rubbish and was told by employees that was not permitted and stopped.
As he was driving away, his vehicle lodged under a safety chain and couldn’t move.
Police said the man again entered the rear tray of the ute to try to release the chain and fell into the bin and struck his head.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner.
