Under the scheme, community members who own minibuses and larger buses allow their vehicles to be hired when they are not being used.
Annual membership costs borrowers $110 per year and also provides added insurance, which covers the vehicle when it is being hired by a community, and a booking service.
Borrowing organisations are required to provide their own qualified drivers and return the bus with a full fuel tank of petrol.
Daily hire costs – bus 14 seats and over – $95; van seating between seven and 13 people – $65; people mover seating up to seven – $45. An administration fee of $30 is also due at the time of booking the bus.
