According to NBN rollout map, council had been left out of the first round of installation.
The map shows a green boundary of the area to be included in the first phase of the rollout skirts around the council administration building.
The boundary came tantalisingly close, only a few metres from council’s door.
Investigations by Cr Gash have discovered council is already ahead of the rest of the town, connected to fibre.
"Due to council's business needs, for a number of years it has been directly connected to fibre for its internet needs,|" Cr Gash said.
"We have not relied on NBN connectivity."
A total of 2900 homes will be connected in Nowra and 2700 homes in West Nowra.
