The whole year has been building towards this occasion competing in state titles just to get selected into NSW state team.
Jervis Bay Judo Club had five Judokas representing the state in the weekend’s competition.
The event is becoming much bigger as the sport of judo grows.
The results from the weekend are -
Danyon Grainger: Gold in Open KYU under 66 kilogram competition, bronze in under 66 kilogram cadets.
Greg Grainger: Silver in under 66 kilograms men’s masters.
Tilhaney Grainger: Bronze in under 36 kilograms senior girls.
The two other boys that competed from Jervis Bay Judo Club, Joel Walters and Aiden Borszc, did extremely well realising the magnitude of being at the Australian National Championships.
"Well done to all the kids for their dedication and hard work at training leading up to the event and on the way they presented themselves over the weekend of competition,” their coach Greg Grainger said.
“They have done themselves and their parents proud.”
