As Australia celebrates National Volunteer Week from May 12 to May 18 people are invited to nominate a local volunteer to be recognised for what they do.
Categories include individual volunteer of the year, volunteer team, corporate volunteer and excellence in not-for-profit volunteer management, adult, senior, student and youth volunteer.
The winners of each of these categories will be eligible for the award of Volunteer of the Year in their region and will go on to the state finals in their category.
The volunteer team of the year award recognises the work of a number of volunteers who have worked together on a particular not-for-profit project.
In 2014 the team award will be presented at state and regional levels.
The NSW awards were launched in 2007 to recognise the efforts of more than two million volunteers in the state.
To nominate someone visit the Centre of Volunteering at www.thecentreforvolunteering.

Nominations close on Sunday, August 31.
The winner will be announced on December 5 to coincide with International Volunteer Day.
