Behind the scenes the club has worked very hard and it is good to see a lot of new faces around, a large playing list, and two great sponsors in Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Club and Trevi Fountain.
With about 11 new players to the club, six who have returned after time away, and a new coach, all the club needs now is that inaugural victory.
New player Rocket has dominated his first four games and has shown he can mix it with the best in the league.
Lobby who returned last week after a big hit in round one against Bomaderry in his first top grade game and he has not taken a backwards step.
Clarky is a seasoned player who has returned after a season away and has shown that 40-year-olds can still also match it with the best.
David and Pearso have bought some new energy to the club with a positive attitude and they are improving the culture.
Whether he is playing, running, taking training or just being an absolute menace, a new face at the club, Anthony Gill, is great to have around for a laugh and his football knowledge is second to none.
This week the Blues face Albatross Demons in the Barry Cruickshank Shield on Saturday at West Street starting at 2.10pm.
Afterwards the club has invited Albatross back for pizza and a raffle night and it would be good to see large numbers at the club were the atmosphere has been fantastic this season.
The only other Nowra Blues team this year is the under 16’s, which last week faced the Ulladulla Dockers and had them all game until a last quarter fade out. Nowra has some enormous talent in this team, but they need more players.
Trainings are every Thursday at 4.45pm.
A special mention goes out to Cooper Perry, who played his 100th junior game for Nowra Last Friday and was one of the best on ground at half back flank.
Congratulations to Jonty Kelly who made his debut for the Belconnen under 18’s side.
