Fire crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Shoalhaven and Nowra brigades were called to the Karowa Street blaze, off Bunberra Street, shortly before 10pm.
When fire crews arrived the two-storey home, which was split into two units, was well alight, with fire already engulfing the roof section of the top storey.
Five residents of the home managed to escape the blaze, with two men suffering minor burns to their hands, which were treated by ambulance paramedics.
It took fire crews around 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze, with the roof collapsing.
One of the units was totally gutted, while overall around 70 per cent of the property was damaged.
It is believed the causer of the fire may be an electrical fault but further investigations will be undertaken Tuesday morning.
