Maddinson was one of six players from the Sydney Sixers to be sold on the first day of the IPL auction last week, linking with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Also among the new recruits for the Challengers was team mate Mitchell Starc, who went for the equivalent of $833,000 Australian dollars and Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh who will be the competition’s highest paid player after being sold for over $2 million.
He joins a very strong Challengers squad, which boasts a number of the games top players, including Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Virat Kolhi and Muttaiah Muralitharan.
It looks set to be another big career boost for Maddinson who made his Twenty20 international debut in India last year and had a solid Big Bash campaign with the Sydney Sixers.
For the moment Maddinson will have his attention on the remainder of the Australian season with NSW, before the IPL gets underway in April.
