The beautiful voices came from The Manse, where one of Australia’s best tenors, Chris Lincoln-Bogg, conducted his inaugural Shoalhaven opera camp.
He recently returned to Australia after a long international career as an opera singer and now lives in the Shoalhaven.
The camp was an intensive course for advanced tertiary, post-tertiary and young professional classically based singers.
It ran for a week and students from Melbourne and Canberra took part.
Former St Michael’s School and Nowra Anglican College student Belinda Dalton attended the camp.
Ms Dalton said she jumped at the chance to learn from someone like Mr Lincoln-Bogg.
“Chris is the best teacher I have had so far in my career,” she said.
Ms Dalton said thanks to the camp she received some great technical support, which helped her sing better.
She recently completed her masters of music at the University of Melbourne.
Mr Lincoln-Bogg loves being in the Shoalhaven and teaching in The Manse.
He said The Manse was a vibrant music hub and many of his colleagues would love the use of such a facility.
Ms Dalton said The Manse was a lot better than some of the teaching rooms in Melbourne.
