After two weeks of smooth flowing traffic, the highway is once again becoming a car park as work on the final layer gets under way.
The final asphalt layer and line marking is currently under way between Central Avenue and Warra Warra Road.
Where possible the contractor Nace will work without shutting two lanes. When double lane closures can’t be avoided that work will be done at night between 8pm and 5am to minimise impact on traffic.
The work is expected to be finished in the next few months, while construction of a north bound break-down lane between Parma Road and Forest Road will be completed later in the year.
