Lynburn, located on the Princes Highway at Bomaderry, has been part of the Morton family for almost 120 years and will be auctioned on site on February 1.
Integrity Real Estate will handle the sale with company director Peter Russell describing the property as “unique”.
“It is a very special place and a very special sale,” he said.
“It is the first time the property has been sold by the Morton family.
“It overlooks the Bomaderry Creek area and considering its location is still extremely private.
“This is the opportunity to buy a historic local property in the style of Terara House.
“This really is a once in a lifetime property.”
The 5.28 hectare (approximately 13 acre) property features a massive back area, large creek frontage, four bedrooms plus formal lounge, dining and parlour room.
While there is access to the property off the Princes Highway which will remain, extra access has also been provided in Mattes way.
“It is a real piece of local history,” Mr Russell said.
“Properties like this don’t become available very often.
“In the 20 years I have been selling property I think I have only ever had half a dozen similar properties to this one.
“Admittedly the home does need some work but it has the potential to be something very, very special.”
Mr Russell said while the property would make a stunning home, it could possibly even have other uses like a bed and breakfast or convention centre.
The property will be open for viewing ahead of the auction, with plans for it to be open each Saturday during January.
As well as the auction of the property, the home’s contents will also go under the hammer on the day, featuring some furniture that is well over 150-years-old.
