Berry ended Nowra’s undefeated reign in spectacular fashion thanks to solid knocks by Brad Carey (41) and Blygh Herron, and 3/30 by newcomer Phil Dell’Orefice.
Berry will now face a re-match with Nowra in the one day grand final, to be played in early 2014.
In Saturday’s humidity Berry won the toss and elected to bat first.
Berry looked to be in trouble early after Glenn Brandon was dismissed for a duck thanks to a catch by Lewis O’Brien off a fast delivery from Alex Legge.
But Brandon’s dismissal just made way for Carey, who hit four boundaries on his way to 44 runs.
Carey was there to see James Milne (11), Connor Edenden (0) and Nathan Thomas (0) out, before he was caught by Adam Quinlan off a Justin Weller ball.
Dale Lovatt and Chris McCarron (0) were next to fall, and Berry was 7/65.
Batting at eight, Herron was the turning point to Berry’s innings.
Herron hit three fours as he made his way to 44 runs.
He was assisted in the lower order by Ty Cherry (14) and James Carroll (17 n.o), who helped their team finish on 142 after 42 overs.
The Nowra bowlers were consistent, with Legge (2/21), Weller (2/35), Michael Coulter (2/23) and Daniel Bryant (2/22) showing a few of the reasons why Nowra had remained unbeaten up to this game.
But despite the reasonable target, the Nowra batsmen could not get their eye in at the change of innings.
There were some handy hits from Lewis O’Brien (14), Rohan Hutchison (18), Bryant (11), Coulter (12), Chris Nation (17) and Adam Quinlan (22), but no one could stay in long enough to push for even a half ton.
Thanks to the handy bowling from Dell’Orefice, McCarron (2/12), Carey (1/26), Brandon (1/16) and Cherry (1/16) Berry had Nowra all out for 122.
Over at Bomaderry Oval Blake Munilla catapulted his team to a good position against North Nowra-Cambewarra after the opener hit 86 runs which included nine fours and one six.
Strong support by Jarryd Sue (24), Travis Roth (36) and Josh Coulter (13 n.o) took Bomaderry to 8/186 after 45 overs.
Nick McDonald (2/36) and James Wakefield (2/39) were best with the ball for Norths.
McDonald then proved his worth with the bat, hitting 76 off 88 balls, including 10 boundaries.
Although Hugh Gillen (13), Chris Lewis (14 n.o) and Wakefield (16) did well to keep their team’s strike rate up, Norths ran out of batsmen at 159 runs, just 27 runs short of the win.
Jordan Matthews was lethal in his five overs for Bomaderry, with the skipper claiming 4/35, as well as a catch and run out.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s travelled to Lighthouse Oval to take on Batemans Bay.
Batemans Bay won the toss and elected to bat first.
After a slow start, Matt Sethi (27), Trent Innes (35) and Marc Stiller (42) took their team to compulsory closure on 8/161.
Ex-Servos did not need many batsmen to take the win, with Daniel Gleeson hitting an unbeaten 91 runs, proving once again why he is such a dangerous weapon for his team.
Gleeson smashed 10 boundaries and two sixes and only needed assistance from Paul Meakins (1), Simon Schmotz (20), Chris Bramley (19) and Andrew Wright (8 n.o) for his team to take the win in 26 overs.
Just down the road at Ulladulla Sports Park three wicket hauls from Bay and Basin’s Shannon O’Bierne and Joel Lahene had Ulladulla United all out for 161 at the change of innings.
It was a tough chase for the visiting team, but strong hits from Brendan Hiriart (44), Brandon Labb (19), Connor McQueen (16), Danny Eccles (22 n.o) and Dave Rickwood (16 n.o) had them over Ulladulla’s total after 42 overs with three wickets in hand.
