She was about to use the takings to purchase more stock for what she hoped would be a busy Christmas period.
She had to borrow money from a family member to replace the stolen takings.
“I am in heaps of debt now,” she said.
The theft has shaken Ms Abello.
“The theft has messed me up big time,” she said.
“I did not even realise at first that the house had been broken into.”
Ms Abello, along with her four boys, was asleep at the time of the break-in, which she thinks happened between 11pm and 2am last week.
Her worst fears, in the morning, became reality when she could not find her handbag.
“I think the thieves must have been kids,” she said.
“My wallet was found in the bush and so luckily I have my credit cards back. Adults might have kept the cards and gone wild with them.
“It was bin night so my handbag was more than likely thrown in a bin. “They also took my children’s PlayStation and then chucked it away because it was an old one.”
The theft not only left her in debt and depressed but also wondering if all the hard work and trying to do something positive for her family was worth the effort.
