FORMER and past players and officials of the Albatross Rugby Club attended a reunion at the Postman’s Tavern in Nowra last Saturday.
Organised by Albatross stalwarts John Campbell and Nick Sverdloff the reunion attracted a huge crowd.
Mr Sverdloff provided a stirring history of one of the most successful clubs to ever come out of the naval base.
There were certainly plenty of stories told during the afternoon’s get together.

For six guests at the Albatross Rugby reunion the function also marked a significant milestone. All six joined the Navy on January 11 1981 at HMAS Nirimba and then all transferred to HMAS Albatross in 1983. Peter Flanagan, Greg Edwards, Mario Cinello, Steve Court, Vaughan Baird and Tony Healey.
