The establishment council will be chaired by Illawarra-Shoalhaven Medicare Local director, Ms Jennie George, who said the aim of the group was to provide a formal structure for engaging a range of key stakeholders in consultation about public health policy, integration and co-ordination of health services and delivery.
“This is the first meeting to get better input from health and community representatives so we can respond to their concerns and health needs,” Ms George said.
The establishment council will act as a sounding board for concepts, policies and programs of ISML and provide advice on direction and development in primary care.
Also attending will be Illawarra-Shoalhaven Medicare Local board chairman, Dr Brett Thomson and chief executive officer Dr Kellie Marshall.
The first meeting will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, May 2 at The Assembly Hall at the Sebel Harbourside in Kiama.
