Olympic medal winner Karen Phillips, now Karen Higgison, offered to sign five pairs of unique swimmers to be used in a balloon auction in May.
YWCA fundraising event coordinator Lynne French said she approached Mrs Higgison to lend her name to the cause and she was happy to oblige.
The swimwear is hand made by Sydney designer Miranda Lilli and will be among prizes on offer at the event on May 30.
“The YQuest entrants are all involved in organising the auction and will be responsible for selling the balloons on the night,” Ms French said.
“Last year was the first time we held the event and it went very well.”
Mrs Higgison said she first heard about YQuest when she saw the profiles of the entrants appearing in the South Coast Register.
She competed in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where she won a silver medal in the 200m butterfly.
“I also competed in the Commonwealth Games in 1986,” she said.
All money raised at the event will be given to the YQuest program to be distributed to various YWCA programs.
