South Coast Police District officers were called to the scene at 11.10am on Tuesday, May 3, after reports a nurse was allegedly struck by a female patient with a knife.
Police confirmed the nurse sustained a minor cut across the chest area.
The patient had been taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police said they will continue investigations with her once she is released from hospital.

"We will be giving court attendance notices."
Shoalhaven hospital group general manager Chris Hamer said the nurse is receiving ongoing support following the incident.
"Shoalhaven hospital is providing ongoing support to a staff member who was injured while at work on Tuesday," Mr Hamer said in a statement to the Register.
"The staff member received immediate treatment and the matter was reported to police.
"Any security incident involving violence or threats to staff, patients or visitors is also subject to an internal investigation. Staff are also provided with support and access to counselling if required.
