The Nowra-born cricketer and Bomaderry High School alum was awarded with the Bill Lawry Medal, the second season in a row that the athlete has won the award.

The medal is awarded to the state's best performed player throughout the Marsh Sheffield Shield season, with Maddinson last winning the award for the 2019-20 season.
Last year no award was handed out as a result of the season getting cut short as a result of the pandemic.
Maddinson scored 545 runs at an average of 54.50.
He also notched two centuries throughout the season.
In other Victorian Cricket award news;
Nicole Faltum (VIC) was awarded the winner of the 2021-22 Sharon Tredrea Award, which recognises the best player in the Women's National Cricket League.
She notched 189 runs at an average of 31 and finished the season with twelve dismissals of the glove.
Fellow NSW cricketer Henry Thornton (Kogarah) was awarded the Dean Jones Medal, named after one of Australia's finest cricketers, the award recognises the Victorian Player of the Season.
The fast bowler finished with five wickets in four matches.
