According to Retail Customer Executive, Marnie Boyd the decision comes as a result of customers increasingly switching to banking digitally.

"Increasingly customers are banking digitally, with more than 93% of customer interactions now taking place over the phone, by video or online," she said.
"As more and more customers are choosing to bank online, we're investing in improving our digital platform to make it easier and faster."
"While our physical branch presence in Berry will no longer be there, we will still be there for our customers just in different ways," she said.
Ms Boyd states that the lessening foot traffic to physical branches is a direct result of COVID-19, and it has only exacerbated a problem that was already prevalent as it is.
She said that approximately 55% of NAB's customers in Berry have only visited the branch once in the last year and in fact 70% of customers are using other locations such as their newer branches in Nowra and Kiama.
Both of those branches were recently refurbished and upgraded last year.
"The branch team will be working with customers over the coming weeks until we close, talking with them about the various banking alternatives available."
"These include our partnership with Australia Post and the Bank@post service as well as connecting with our mobile bankers, home lending specialists or business bankers in person or for phone or video appointments," she said.
Bank@post is available at the Berry LPO in Queen Street.
Most importantly as confirmed by Ms Boyd the closure will not result in any job losses.
"We are working closely with our colleagues on opportunities for them to continue to support customers either through other branches or across phone and digital channels," she said.
The Berry branch will officially close on May 5.
