In what has been one of the wettest cricket seasons on record for the Shoalhaven, the grand finals this weekend are far from a sure thing as the wet weather looms.

Last weekend saw only five of the possible eight semi-final games played, with both first grade games cancelled.

As a result of the downpour last Friday, both games in Nowra were cancelled and the other in Sussex Inlet as it still recovered from flood damage.
Last weekend was the setting of a Cinderella story as both third and forth place upset first and second place in the semi finals.
Berry-Shoalhaven Heads defeated Bay & Basin with a number of strong performances propelling them to the win at Sanctuary Point Oval.
Christian Page and Riley Ingram were fantastic behind the bat scoring 30 and 32 runs respectively.
Mitchell Downey and Daniel Watson showed tremendous prowess with the ball each securing three wickets. With every participating bowler securing at least one wicket.
Luke Gogerly played a great game for the Bay & Basin side leading them in runs with 17 and securing three wickets of his own.
Basin & Basin officially lost on the first innings.
North Nowra/Cambewarra carrying on in upset fashion defeated Bomaderry at Lighthouse Oval.
Lachlan Almond was more than sharp with the bat leading his squad with 33 runs. Samuel Neri was no slouch either backing up Almond with 29 of his own runs.
Matt Hickmott was a revolution with the ball securing a massive five wickets on his own, leaving the Bomaderry side flabbergasted.
Bomaderry lost outright in the first innings.
This weekend will see the two underdogs take on one another at Sanctuary Point oval on the Saturday.
With the weather still uncertain there has been significant discussion within the committee of the SDCA this week in regards to the allocation of ovals and what to do with the weather.
As of right now SDCA President Shane Isherwood has confirmed the locations for the Grand Finals.
- 1st Grade - Bernie Regan Oval - (North Nowra vs Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens)
- 2nd Grade - Sanctuary Point Oval - (North Nowra Cambewarra vs Berry-Shoalhaven Heads)
- 3rd Grade - Bernie Regan Oval No.2 - (North Nowra Cambewarra vs Berry-Shoalhaven Heads)
- 4th Grade - Lighthouse Oval No.2 - (Ulladulla United vs Bay & Basin)
Back up options as of right now pending what the weather does is Vincentia Sporting Complex and Zealand Oval.
Isherwood has stated discussions will continue throughout the week as they monitor the weather situation which is expected to worsen in the coming days.
After a season so hampered by wet conditions, everyone involved in the SDCA is hoping they can finally catch a break for the biggest games of the year.
