Director of City Futures, Carey McIntyre, announced
Council announces the appointment of Carey McIntyre [above] to the role of Director, City Futures.
Mr McIntyre has over 27 years of experience in local government, working at Campbelltown, Wollongong, Camden, and Shellharbour councils, in the fields of engineering, town planning, project management and strategic planning.
Mr McIntyre described the move as an exciting opportunity and said he was looking forward to being part of the Shoalhaven City Council team.
Plant a tree at 'The Grotto'
People can join council's Bushcare team for a community tree planting day at The Grotto (North Nowra) on Saturday April 30 from 9 am to12pm
Council be planting hundreds of eucalypt trees that will one day provide shade throughout the public reserve and along the Grotto Walking Track.
Council will provide gloves, gardening tools and morning tea. Please wear enclosed shoes and sun protection.
Register before 5 pm on Wednesday April 27, by contacting the Bushcare team on 4429 3592 or bushcare@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au.
Conjola Park has received $615,000 in Bushfire Recovery grant funding
This funding will be used to replace the existing jetty, within Yooralla Bay at the western end of Lake Conjola, with a new 25-metre-long jetty and adjacent pontoons to the Valley Drive boat ramp.
Council is contributing the additional $22,000 required to complete the works.
Council is committed to continuing to rebuild community facilities, lost or damaged in the bushfires, to a greater standard than they were before.

Coastal dune rehabilitation at Callala Bay, Shoalhaven Heads and Bendalong
Works will be undertaken when the weather is safe and environmentally sound. Council is monitoring forecasts for potential storm surges and ocean swell events, which may impact the current works.
Ongoing assessment of hazards and impacts within Coastal environments will help plan the most appropriate risk management strategy for the future.
Council have established exclusion zones for public safety.

Extension of free tipping for flood damaged waste
An extension has been issued to April 30 allowing residents to dispose of their flood damaged waste free of charge.
Residents will be required to sign a declaration at the Waste Depot that the waste disposed of is a result of the 2022 March East Coast Low severe weather and flooding event.
