After a year of constant uncertainty and cancelled events in 2021 Club Stalwart Kurt Nyholm is remaining positive that this year will be a return to normality for the club and it's members.
The club's first competition is on Sunday, February 6 at Rennies Beach, starting at 7:30 am.
"As surfers we are lucky because it is an individual sport so it's reasonably easy to maintain your distance from others," said Kurt.

"It's not like cancelling a rugby game where you aren't allowed on the field. We can grab a surfboard and go whenever we like."
The Ulladulla Boardriders who are going into their 47th year are one of Australia's longest running and most respected surfing clubs.
Kurt cites this reputation as being built off a love, not only for the area and community, but for the sport and craft of surfing in general.
"We are a club that gives a lot back and we've always supported a number of charities. I think that's where we've gained quite a bit of respect," he said.
"It's also a great family club. I was 12 when I first joined and I've been a part of it ever since. It introduces you to a lot of people in a competitive but friendly environment."
The reach of the club is quite remarkable for a local organisation, with members coming from as far north as Culburra and even as far south as Merimbula.
This year the Boardriders have teamed up with LiveHeats, a live results and event management software, for action sports across Australia.
"Through LiveHeats you can now view the heats anywhere in the world, this is a first for us and we are very excited about it," said Kurt.
Kurt is confident the season opener will proceed despite the influence of La Nina which has brought strong winds and changing ocean surface currents.
"Surfers honestly prefer a little bit of ruggedness out there. It kicks up a bit more action in the ocean."
"We cant wait to see you all there for the opener."
