The club announced that Blake Meyer will coach the club's side for the second straight season with his father Andrew returning in an assistant capacity.
A famous player from the 1980s and 90s, Meyer senior will be a welcome face back at the club as will premiership-winning player Jake Temporali, who joins as team manager.
Speaking to the Register, Meyer said he was thrilled to be back for what is just his second year as a senior coach.
"I'm excited to be back, they're a really good bunch of blokes," he said.
"We managed to get Jake Temporali back and my dad Andrew is back helping. He's an ex-Spuddie so always like to come down and have a run with the boys. He loves it.
"I grew up around here and played most of my sport here, played a bit of cricket as well as footy. I'm really proud to be able to coach the Spuds."
After winning the title in 2020, the Spuddies were sitting in third place before the competition was postponed and subsequently cancelled due to the worsening COVID situation last year.
With the bulk of their squad retained, Meyer said he only had one focus ahead of Round 1.
"It was definitely frustrating but can't do much about it can you," he mused.
"We were in the top three last year and going pretty good before the season was cut short so it's good to get another crack at it.
"We certainly will be trying to take it out. building on last year and the years before. We haven't lost too many blokes so we should be looking for the title, certainly."
Whilst the roster is looking healthy ahead of the campaign, interested players are more than welcome and are advised to keep an eye on the club's Facebook page.
"We certainly don't knock anyone back," he said.
"Training begins on February 2. Won't be anything too crazy, don't want to scare them off. We'll gradually build into it."
