Curtis was the Nowra club's most improved rider of 2020 and he built on that throughout 2021.
This year Curtis won silver and bronze medals at NSW Junior championships and was selected to represent NSW at the Australian Junior track championships in Brisbane.
However, these events were derailed by a Covid situation and did not take place despite most riders being on site at the time.
Following a return to racing after the NSW lockdown, Curtis was impressing at state junior events against riders from Victoria, NSW and the ACT.
Individual time trialling was his pet event and he finished on the podium for these events at no less than half a dozen times.
Curtis is a member of the Illawarra Academy of Sport's cycling squad and has been named the IAS's cyclist of the year for 2021.
Curtis has now stepped up a division to junior under 19 events and he will race at the Australian Road Championships at Ballarat in January 2022.
The Nowra Velo Club is proud to have Curtis as one of their junior members.
