From these events the Club's overall 2021 grade champions were decided.
Ludman became the A grade champion for 2021 with Williams taking out the B grade overall championship for the year.
The C grade champion for 2021 is Gary Bryce and Martyn Smith in the overall champion for D grade.
These results were determined across three different events, a mountain climb, a road race which were held over the past five weeks and the criteriums which were held on Sunday.
These events on Sunday started on wet roads and misty rain which then cleared as the program progressed.
Ludman's win in the A grade criterium was ahead of Mark Astley, Gavin Nethery, Curtis Trkulja and Ben Wallis.
Trkulja had gone into this event as the championship points leader but with only a one point margin over Ludman. Trkulja had won the mountain event and Ludman, the road race.
Mark Williams was a clear overall B grade winner after taking out all events in this grade.
Williams' aggression in the criterium saw him race ahead and take a lap on the field.
Brad Oaten placed second in B grade ahead of Josh Henry and Michael Berriman.
C grade was the first race on this program and raced on wet roads. The race came apart and then mostly back together for the finish where Tony Patton took the win ahead of Doug Gray and Dave Gray.
Zac Peters was a close fourth and Gary Bryce fifth. This finish position gave Bryce enough points to take the overall win from the three events.
Ned Grootenboer finished sixth, ahead of Jon Schol and Frank Neri.
The D grade race was possibly the most interesting event on the program. Dean Byrne returned to racing with the NVC for this event and took off, alone and early. He was holding the field at 100 metres for most of the way until Michael Thompson led the chase to bring the field back to him.
Well, just some of the field. Despite the confusion of the chase and recapture, Byrne had the speed at the end for the win.
Martyn Smith romped past everybody else to finish second, ahead of Thompson, Matt Grootenboer, John Cullity, Hubert Driehuis, Jamie Overton, Jo Chalain, Ethan Astley, Zara Jobson and Rod Pierce.
Smith started this event as a comfortable series leader and extended to take the overall.
Next Sunday will have the final race program of 2021 on the Nowra Velo Club's calendar with criteriums at the Tech Park for the George Johnson memorial in all grades.
