Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who attempted to set fire to the front entrance to the Roxy Cinema in Nowra and then took to the doors with an axe.

Just before 11pm on Wednesday (November 24) the unknown man attacked the front entrance of the cinema.
The man got out of his vehicle in Berry Street and allegedly doused the front entrance doors with petrol and attempted to light it.
He then retrieved an axe from his vehicle and hit the doors, causing them to break.

The man then climbed on top of an air conditioning unit where he damaged the CCTV camera.
The car is described as a white Mitsubishi Triton with unknown registration, and was pulling a trailer at the time.
The male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build and unshaven.
He was wearing a navy-blue long-sleeved jumper and a navy-blue cap with black sunglasses on his head.
Officers from South Coast Police District are continuing inquiries and are appealing for anyone who may have any information to contact Nowra Police Station on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
