On Saturday, at the Gold Coast Sports Precinct, Wilbraham dominated his opponent Jamie Hunt - so much so, he was awarded the win by technical knockout at the end of round two.

"This was by far the biggest win for me on the largest and best MMA stage in Australia," Wilbraham said.

"Despite this, I was extremely calm and relaxed the entire fight which was something I have never experienced before.

"I don't think my adrenaline was pumping or anything like that.

"When I was announced the winner, I just felt the same really and knew my hard work had paid off.

"Although it was an unexpected and surreal feeling, my mind quickly shifted to what's next."

The former Nowra High School student's bout was one of 14 fights on the night ran by Eternal MMA - a banner he's honoured to fight under.

"This fight played out really well for me, as it was a big win over a brown belt and very experienced grappler," said Wilbraham, who was presented $1000 as the 'performance of the night' winner.

"I was able to showcase a lot of my skills, landing damaging strikes on my feet, including head kicks, flying knees, spinning back kicks and punches.

"I also got three or four takedowns in the first round followed by damaging ground striking throughout the round."

As strong as he started, Wilbraham took it up a notch in the second three-minute round, to ensure he secured his fifth MMA career victory.

"I landed a huge knee and elbow, had him hurt but he went back to wrestling and I took him down," the 28-year-old said.

"On the ground, he started talking to me - it was an unusual situation but we had a friendly talk while I continued to land hard elbows between sentences.

"He was telling me I was stronger than he previously thought and I asked him if he thought I was skinny at the weigh-ins which he replied yes.

"I told him weigh-ins can be deceiving because I was much heavier once rehydrated on the night.

"I then started giving him encouragement to not give up and keep going because I felt he was breaking.

"I then proceeded to land an excessive amount of punches on him in the last 90 seconds of the round - I thought the referee should have called it off but he didn't.

"I looked down at him and felt that he was done - I went and sat on my stool and the referee called it off."

As he alluded to, Wilbraham has already started making plans for his next fight in the octagon.

"This fight moves me to five wins and no defeats as a professional fighter," he said.

"I remember thinking how crazy 5-0 would be and now I'm here.

"This puts me up there with the top guys in the country and closer towards the UFC.

"I feel this win put the whole bantamweight division on notice, so I'm keeping the momentum going and going to continue climbing through the ranks - with my next fight hopefully being in March."
