The new Crisis Line will operate out of the Nowra and Wollongong centres, with Lifeline South Coast currently looking for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be part of the service.
This is a first for Lifeline and was a key recommendation made in Lifeline's Wellbeing and Healing Through Connection and Culture.
It is hoped the new service, in collaboration with key Indigenous specialists, will be operating in early 2022.

Lifeline South Coast is looking to recruit a pool of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporters to work in both its Nowra and Wollongong centres.
Successful applicants will undergo extensive training to ensure they feel confident, skilled, and able to provide support to our First Nations callers in their time of emotional distress and crisis.

There will be two information sessions in Nowra and in Wollongong and Lifeline strongly encourages anyone interested to attend the information sessions to learn more about what the position involves.
