The Blues, who won the One-Day Cup last season, were scheduled to play their competition opener earlier this month against the Victorians at the MCG but the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the weather.
The squad, to be led by skipper Kurtis Patterson, includes ICC 2021 T20 Men's World Cup winner Adam Zampa, alongside Daniel Sams, who was a reserve during that tournament.
Wicket-keeper/batter Baxter Holt is in line to make his List A debut for the Blues.
Rounding out the squad is Harry Conway, Jack Edwards, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Hayden Kerr, Tanveer Sangha and Chris Tremain.
Ollie Davies and Ben Dwarshuis were not considered due to injury.
Davies broke his thumb fielding in Premier Cricket on Saturday, while Dwarshuis has a side strain.
A return to play plan is still being assessed for both players.
Following the One-Day Cup match, the focus of all NSW players turns to season 11 of the Big Bash League - where Gilkes will be playing with the Sydney Thunder once again.
