Chris Foster's Diary of a Heartbreak explores the emotions experienced through each stage of a relationship's cycle - from falling in love, to heartbreak and the recovery process.
The 29-year-old, who writes a mixture of poetry and fantasy novels, said the new book is his "most personal collection yet".
While it was written over the course of a few years, Chris said he was inspired to publish the book after noticing many going through heartbreak during lockdown.

"In lockdown, I watched a lot of people go through break ups or people realising they weren't compatible," said Chris.
"I spoke to a friend who said they couldn't find the words to describe the pain, so I put the book together for people who were going through that process."
Published earlier this week, the collection is Chris' eighth book. With another novel on the way, the author isn't stopping any time soon.
"The next book is already half written. It's a fantasy novel and I'm about 35,000 words in," he said.
"The ideas don't stop."
