This is the first time the Shoalhaven has recorded more cases than Wollongong since the Delta outbreak.

Case numbers across the district continue to remain steady as Wollongong recorded four new cases and Shellharbour recorded three new cases in the last 24 hours to 8pm last night.

The ISLHD reported a woman in her 90s died at a Tarrawanna aged care facility in the Illawarra, where she acquired the infection.

She had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.

The ISLHD "extends sincere condolences to her loved ones".

There have now been 2,403 local cases of COVID-19 in the ISLHD since the start of the current outbreak in June.

NSW recorded 293 cases and two deaths overnight.

93.3 per cent of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 86 per cent of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

NSW Health has not listed any new Shoalhaven venues as COVID exposure sites overnight.
