Last Friday, on a picture-perfect afternoon in Currarong, artists, sponsors and steering committee members met to view the newly arrived branded flags that will be displayed outside artist studios on art trail days.

After weeks of COVID-19 restrictions it was a festive gathering used to discuss last minute logistics ahead of this new event starting up in the Shoalhaven.

From November 6 the art trail will continue to run on the first Saturday of every month between 10am-2pm.

Twenty talented artists in Currarong have signed up to be part of this exciting initiative where they will open their studios to the public to showcase their art.

It is a great way to meet the artists and to see first-hand what they have been working on.

Having this personal connection with the artists and hearing the story or inspiration behind each piece produced, is also a wonderfully unique way to buy art.

The offering available is across a variety of mixed media to include pottery; industrial/recycled sculpture; acrylic, oil, and pastel paintings; resin; jewellery; photography, political cartoons, glasswork, botanical printing and screen work to name a few.

It is easy to participate in the Currarong Art Trail.

No registration is required. Simply go to the website, www.currarongarttrail.com.au shortlist the Artists' Studios you are interested in and check that they will be open. (This is updated each month).

Then download the map and plan your art trail walk around the village.

What a great way to spend a Saturday, discovering stunning art produced in Currarong while surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Beecroft Peninsula.
