COVID-19 case numbers in the Shoalhaven are following the state's downward trend with only one new case recorded in Tuesday's update.

The case is linked to a known case and is located in the 2541 postcode, confirmed by the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The district's numbers are also dropping with a total of nine new cases recorded across Wollongong, Shellharbour and the Shoalhaven.
Wollongong has recorded five new cases with three linked to known cases. Shellharbour has recorded three new cases with two linked to known cases.

Sadly, a man in his 80s from Wollongong has died at Wollongong Hospital. The ISLHD reported he was not vaccinated and had significant underlying health conditions.
NSW recorded 273 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday and recorded four deaths.
Two new exposure sites have appeared in the Shoalhaven and the ISLHD has reminded residents to remain vigilent and get tested.

- Nowra: The Friendly Grocer East Nowra, from 2:30pm to 2:45pm on Tuesday, October 12
