Two of the biggest names in women's footy, the NSW and Jillaroos representative duo led Helensburgh's jump into the NSW Women's Premiership last season.

Bega junior Apps remains contracted to St George Illawarra for the postponed NRLW season, due to kick off in February, but will make a significant shift in clubland having played her entire career to date with the Burgh.

Sergis, who has shifted to the Roosters at NRLW level after three years with the Dragons, has also made the switch after playing the last two seasons with Helensburgh.

The pair reclaimed Illawarra Premiership silverware for the first time in three years in 2020, before making the jump to the state's elite competition last season.

Helensburgh finished in the top four, beating out a host of competition regulars to qualify for the 2021 finals that were subsequently aborted due the COVID-19 lockdown that put the handbrake on all community rugby league in June.

Wests Tigers announced the recruitment coup on Wednesday afternoon, CEO Justin Pascoe welcoming the new signings and the strides the club is taking towards inclusion in the NRLW competition in future.

"On behalf of all at Wests Tigers, I'd like to welcome Kezie and Jess to the club and say how excited we are to have them on board this year," Pascoe said.

"They are both world-class players who have performed at the highest levels in the game and will certainly add a great deal of experience, talent and professionalism to our team.

"As a club, we're really excited by the direction and the progress that has been made throughout our women's pathways program as we strive for an NRLW licence in 2023."
