The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Public Health Unit is working with the local community, Jerrinja Local Aboriginal Land Council, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and other local agencies to coordinate a response to a confirmed local case of COVID-19.

It was confirmed Thursday afternoon that a positive COVID case had been detected in the Jerrinja Community at Roseby Park, east of Nowra.
A ISLHD spokesperson said the response includes coordinating COVID-19 testing and supporting vaccination in the area as well as clinical and other support services, as required.
"People across the area are urged to come forward for testing if they have symptoms or are concerned they may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19," the spokesperson said.
Testing is also available at the Culburra Beach Histopath Drive-through and Walk-in Clinic at Crookhaven Park, Culburra Oval Mini Fields Carpark (opposite Culburra Beach Tennis Courts), entry via Prince Edward Avenue, which is open seven days, 8am-4pm.
In addition to the NSW Health vaccination clinics that are located throughout the state, COVID-19 vaccinations are becoming more widely available to the community through GPs, GP respiratory clinics, community pharmacies and ACCHOs.

"The Centre for Aboriginal Health, supported by the Ministry of Health, has developed a range of communications resources focusing on Aboriginal vaccination and COVID-safe practises, using culturally appropriate messaging and harnessing the reach of community champions. The Shoalhaven registered another nine COVID cases, three of which were linked and the ISLHD 60 positive COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday night.
