The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) has reported six new COVID-19 cases in the Shoalhaven.

Three cases are located in the 2540 postcode and three in the 2541 postcode. Two are linked to known cases and source of four is under investigation.
Across the district there were 51 new COVID-19 cases recorded, bringing the total number of cases to 1792 since the start of the June outbreak.
Of the new cases, 34 are from the Wollongong LGA and 11 are from the Shellharbour LGA.
There were no new cases reported in Kiama.
As at 8pm Monday, October 4, 38 COVID-19 patients were being treated in Wollongong Hospital.

The community was asked to be vigilant for symptoms and get tested if any appear, no matter how mild. Symptoms include cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath.

Across the state, there were 608 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday night.
Seven people with COVID-19 died, six men and one woman.
Five people were not vaccinated, and two people had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
There are currently 978 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with 190 people in intensive care, 94 of whom require ventilation.
In NSW, 88.5 per cent of people aged 16-years and over have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 67.5 per cent are fully vaccinated as of Sunday, October 3.
