Rest up was the medical advice he recently received which he did at the Criterion Hotel in Rockhampton for a few days this week.
Today [Friday, October 1] he posted an update and it appears the rest did the trick.
"It has rained a bit here today and the leg feels good - the leg feels amazing actually," he said.
"I am punching along and I think I have done 25 to 26 kilometres and everything is really good.
"The week off or the five days off I should say was really really good and gave me the opportunity to rest.
"We figured out it was not an injury - it was just from severe over-use.
"Thank you guys for all your love and support - I appreciate it."
Fenndog set off on his epic Cape to Cape Walk.in July .
He will walk from Cape York [the most northern point of Australia] to South East Cape [the most southern point of Tasmania the island on the south east] - in the name of suicide awareness and mental health.
He will also test out a new pair of shoes today.
Fenndog certainly has a high pain threshold and when the condition first hit him he said "it was like someone was jamming a knife into my shin".
He explained, early in the week, that nothing would stop him from finishing his walk.
"This is not me quitting or giving up - there are lots of different options and if that is the case I don't care if I have to wear a moon-boot or if I have to finish this walk on crutches - I will do it," he said.
"My mental state is fine and I am healthy - I am not upset about the situation.
"I want to prove to you guys that when adversity hits - you find a way around it. If the way around it is rest then that is fine."
Two Central Queensland television stations also interviewed Fenndog about the walk this week
.He was "stoked" to get the chance to share information about his quest with more public via the television interviews.
He is walking to promote the importance of suicide awareness and to support people with mental health issues. The trip is a 4,800-kilometre walk.
He has the authority to fundraise from The Black Dog Institute and the fundraising ID is: 491739.
He also has the authority to raise funds from RUOK and LIVIN - a group that aims to reduce the stigma around mental health.
Fenndog has a Gofundme page where people can make donations. Donate here.
Matt has a Facebook page and Instagram page both full of details.
