The number of COVID-19 cases in the Shoalhaven continues to climb, with nine new cases recorded for the 24 hour period to 8pm Tuesday.

This brings the region's total number of cases to 109 since the Delta-variant outbreak started June 16.
As at 8pm Tuesday there was one patient with COVID-19 being treated in Shoalhaven Hospital.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has recorded 94 new cases with the breakdown of numbers by LGA as:
- 66 cases from the Wollongong LGA with 30 linked to known cases.
- 16 cases from the Shellharbour LGA with 10 linked to known cases.
- Nine cases from the Shoalhaven LGA with 5 linked to known cases.
- Three cases from the Kiama LGA with 1 linked to a known case.
The previous day there were 62 new cases in the district. This takes the local total to 1,365 cases since the Delta-variant outbreak.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the increase in cases for the district was "worrying."

NSW recorded 863 new locally acquired cases in the 24 hours to 8pm Tuesday and sadly, 15 more COVID-related deaths.
The state's vaccination rate is sitting at 86.2 per cent first dose and 61.7 per cent double dose.
The premier also announced that from October 11, people in aged care will be allowed two visitors each day aged 12 and over, if the visitors are fully vaccinated.
This is the same day that new freedoms kick in for those who are fully vaccinated, with the state expected to reach the 70 per cent fully vaccinated target next week.
