Despite losing Sims and George Lawler just before kick-off, with the duo be replaced by Albert Vete and Will Maher, the Robins ran in three tries to none, to defeat the Wolves 19-nil at Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Jimmy Keinhorst, Mikey Lewis and Jordan Abdull all crossed for the visitors in the win, with the latter also adding three conversions and one field goal.
The club, which also features Culburra's Adam Quinlan (who has been ruled out for the year with a shoulder injury), has labelled Friday's elimination final win as "arguably their greatest performance of the Super League era", which now has them just 80 minutes away from their first-ever decider.
Sims and his Robins will now face minor premiers Catalans on Thursday for a spot in the big dance.
The Kiama High School alumnus is the lone South Coast product remaining in contention for silverware in England, after the Wigan Warriors, who were without the services of injured Shellharbour playmaker Jai Field (groin), lost 8-nil to Leeds on Thursday.
The Rhinos will now take on St Helens in the other semi-final on Friday.
