Across their four practices, staff have administered over 20,000 COVID-19 vaccines, and also hit a record of administering 1300 doses of Pfizer at their clinic on Saturday, September 11.
Worrigee's Melissa Carlsson was the 20,000th recipient who rolled her sleeve up for the jab, who celebrated with the team with a COVID-themed cake at the Vincentia Medical Centre on Saturday.
"The atmosphere on Saturday was wonderful and everyone was happy the sun was out," said practice principal Annette Pham.
The Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres have been delivering over 2200 vaccines each week, half of those on weekends, matching a rate of metropolitan vaccine hubs.
Practice principal Annette Pham said an increase in South Coast high school students are coming forward to get the jab ahead of the HSC exams.
"We've been vaccinating quite a few HSC students in local schools in Vincentia and Nowra," she said.
"And we'll continue to do them next weekend at our Worrigee practice. We should probably get most of the HSC students done next weekend."
Gilmore MP Fiona Phillips and Nowra Police Station Inspector Ray Stynes joined the celebrations.
Annette extended her gratitude to the community for coming forward to get the vaccine.
"A huge thank you to our community in the Shoalhaven who have really shown a very positive attitude towards vaccination," she said.
"We're very grateful to have such wonderful staff in our practice, to our GPS and nurses, our reception staff, and all those involved in the delivery of the vaccine. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful community."
100 extra vaccine appointments will be added weekly for the Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres Saturday clinics.
Appointments can be booked via www.hotdoc.com.au.
