The victory marked the perfect start to the four-year-old's spring campaign and was his third Saturday-city triumph.
Co-trainers Robert and Luke Price have always held high hopes for Count De Rupee, the duo taking their time as he has matured.
Robert conceded he's proven a late developer, however he declared the gelding is starting to come into his own.
"He's got a good record on the track, he was well-placed today in the fact he had no weight and he drew soft," Price said.
"There's plenty of improvement in him, we haven't done much with him.
"Luke's kept him pretty quiet, had one soft jump out here, no trial."
While Robert is prepared to take a patient approach with the $145,000 yearling, Luke is aiming high this prep and has his sights set on the Golden Eagle and The Gong.
Stable apprentice Brock Ryan was on board on Saturday, the youngster delivering a brilliant ride to charge past his rivals and streak away.
The win came after Ryan claimed the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes onboard Chat and he received high praise from Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Corey Brown in commentary.
The apprentice rides Count De Rupee in work and he expects the gelding to continue improving.
"He's a very professional horse but today he was just on the fresh side, a little bit green and carrying on," Ryan said.
"He's a horse going on the way up."
