Two weeks after abandoning all its mid-week competitions, the Shoalhaven District Football Association was forced to pull the pin on all Saturday competitions too - including the Blackmore Bolden Shield.

Therefore, competition champions Bomaderry have been crowned the 2021 first grade premiers for the second straight season, with Huskisson-Vincentia as runners-up.

In second grade, Shoalhaven United took out the silverware, as was the case with Sussex Inlet in thirds.

Similarly to their football counterparts, the Shoalhaven Netball Association has decided to call an end to its 2021 season.

Following a SNA committee meeting on Thursday evening, it was decided the side currently on top of the ladder, in each respective division, would be awarded this season's premiership.

As such, the four senior premiers of 2021 are Lyrebird Jet Locksmiths and Security (division one), North Nowra-Bomaderry Bomaderry Bowling Club (division two), Lyrebird Nest Residential (division three) and Saints Club Nowra (division four).

Both sports had amended their draws and finals schedules in a hope of finishing their respective campaigns, but with the regional lockdown now lining up with Greater Sydney, they had no choice but to follow in the footsteps of fellow South Coast sports such as Group Seven Rugby League, AFL South Coast, Illawarra Rugby and Illawarra Baseball, and end their years prematurely.

The extended lockdown now puts the start of the 2021-22 Shoalhaven District Cricket Association season in doubt, along with both summer soccer and twilight cricket leagues and the state's surf lifesaving calendar.

In other news, both Southern Branch Inc and South East Phoenix have postponed their trials for the 2022 season until mid-November, depending on NSW Health's protocols.
