In a statement, Woolworths said "it had been notified that a customer with a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) was present in our Woolworths Nowra Stocklands store on Tuesday, August 24 from 6:30pm to 7pm."

On Monday (September 6) NSW Health announced eight positive COVID cases had been recorded in the Shoalhaven in the past 24 hours.

All eight have been confirmed by Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) as residents of the Shoalhaven Local Government Area (LGA). Seven are linked to known cases and for whom investigations are ongoing.

The news came after the Shoalhaven recorded two cases on Friday and a further two cases on Saturday.

"As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place, and in addition to these high cleaning standards the store had a deep clean," the Woolworths' statement said.

"The wellbeing of our customers, team and communities is our highest priority, and in line with public health advice, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in our stores."

Anyone shopping at the Nowra Stockland store at the dates and times listed on the Health Departments website, is urged to follow their advice for isolation or testing requirements.

The Nowra store was one of 17 Woolworths' venues around the country to be named as having confirmed contact with positive COVID cases by the company on Monday, September 6.

Eight of those cases are in NSW and along with Nowra Stockland, exposures were announced at Bathurst, Cherrybrook Village, Dee Why, Dural, Marsfield, Nelson Bay and Riverdale.

There were also five additional exposure sites in Victoria and three in the ACT.

Meanwhile, NSW Health has also listed another exposure time for Bunnings at South Nowra.

It remains the same date Tuesday, August 31, but as well as the initial exposure time of between 6.30am to 2pm has also listed 4pm-4.30pm.

Anyone who attended the Princes Highway, South Nowra complex is a casual contact and must get tested and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.

Get tested immediately. Self-isolate until you get a negative result.

If your date of exposure at this venue occurred in last 4 days, you must get another test on day 5 from the date of exposure.

Wear a mask around others and limit your movements until you get another negative result.

You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again.
