Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) said the extra test sites have been established after NSW Health confirmed two new cases of COVID-19in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area (LGA)
These new cases are in addition to nine cases from the Wollongong LGA and two from the Shellharbour LGA.
ISLHD Director Public Health, Curtis Gregory said to make it easier for the community to be tested, ISLHD has worked with private pathology partners to establish the following pop-up testing facilities.
"While there are ongoing investigations by the ISLHD Public Health Unit into the Shoalhaven cases, and it may account for detection of fragments of the virus in the Bomaderry sewage system, the community is being reminded that high rates of testing is critical to ensuring that COVID-19 is not circulating undetected in the community," he said.
"The contact tracing process continues as part of the case investigations and where potential contacts cannot be established or there is an ongoing public health risk, the community will be notified of those venues."
The Bombaderry sewage catchment serves around 18,000 people in the suburbs of Bomaderry, Cambewarra, Cambewarra Village, Meroo Meadow and some parts of North Nowra.
"The community is asked to monitor for the onset of symptoms, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received," Mr Gregory said.
"Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath, is urged to immediately get tested. Even people with mild symptoms, such as fatigue, new muscle aches or pains, a change in taste or smell or a new runny nose, should arrange testing as quickly as possible."
There are a number of other testing clinics across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven - visit the District's website for a full list and updated opening hours and times. There are also more than 475 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW.

These are the first cases recorded in Shoalhaven since the Delta-variant outbreak started in NSW in June, with the source of their infection is still under investigation.
