Terry Robinson's Art Cadeau is one of four gallopers shortlisted by the NSWROA's for their 2021 Country Champion Horse of the Year award.
Selected by a Racing NSW panel, the Regal Lodge-trained five-year-old gelding is pitted against Brett Cavanough's It's Me, Keith Dryden's Handle The Truth and Scott Spackman's Rocket Tiger for the honour - with the four finalists determined using the NSWROA points system
Art Cadeau, trained at Robinson's Shoalhaven Heads facility, has won five times from 11 starts - including the Country Championships final in April.
During the 2020-21 season, Art Cadeau recorded four wins from his six races - with the other two results being as runner-up, with jockey Tommy Berry being in the saddle on both occasions.
During that run, Art Cadeau won two TAB Highways, with one coming at Rosehill Gardens and the other at Royal Randwick.
While Jamaea, trained by former Nowra-based duo Robert and Luke Price, is one of four finalists for the NSW Provincial Champion Horse of the Year, is joined by Edward Cummings' Duais, Kris Lees' Mugatoo and Nowra-born Kerry Parker's Think it Over.
That is one of two prizes the latter is up for, with Think it Over also shortlisted for NSW Miler of the Year, alongside James Cummings' Cascadian, Jamie Richards' Probabeel and Chris Waller's Yulong Prince.
During the 2020-21 season, Jamaea had two wins and two seconds from her six starts, while Think It Over has three wins, three seconds and two thirds from 14 races last campaign.
Normally presented at the gala evening Racing's Night of Champions, COVID-19 restrictions forced the panel to name their winners in another fashion in 2021, which all respective recipients to be revealed on August 28 at Kembla Grange in conjunction with the ATC's Owner Appreciation Day at Rosehill Gardens - which includes the running of the NSW Racehorse Owners' Association trophy handicap.
There will be no owners present, however, the winners will be announced digitally via both the ATC and NSWROA.
The Association's iconic gold trophies will be delivered to the winners.
With such a good lineup of horses to pick from, highlighting the strength of country racing, NSWROA chief executive officer Jane Henning said it was important to recognise the efforts of NSW country trained horses.
"It's very important. We have plenty of members that live in the country," Henning said.
"There are obviously some great trainers out there as well and it is good to see some of them recognised."
