The Raiders extinguished the Dragons' finals hopes with a 20-12 win, with the loss now to leave them without their best forward for next Friday's clash with the Panthers.
Gerringong product Sims was hit with a grade one careless high tackle charge and would have escaped with a fine had he not carried a 20 per cent loading for previous offences and 35 carry-over points.
Sims would not risk another week on the sidelines should the club elect to fight the charge at the judiciary but, with its finals charge all but done, it appears unlikely.
Zac Lomax copped a $1,500 fine over his own careless high tackle charge, while Jack de Belin was not charged despite being reported for a dangerous tackle in Friday's defeat.
It comes as the club finally clears its sheet of barbecue-gate suspensions, with Josh Kerr and Gerard Beale the last two players to sit a week out over the house party at now former Dragons prop Paul Vaughan's house a month ago.
The Dragons are win-less since then, having torn up Vaughan's contract, while 11 other players were slapped with one-game suspensions by the NRL served in a staggered fashion across four straight defeats.
The Dragons horror rap sheet at the judiciary began well before the barbecue, with winger Mikaele Ravalawa serving three seperate suspensions totalling eight weeks for shoulder charges.
He only returned to action on Friday night, while Josh McGuire and Tyrell Fuimaono copped suspensions in round 10 before both serving one game each over attending the gathering.
Fuimaono has served a total of seven weeks on the sideline after missing Friday's clash with the Raiders over a high tackle charge arising from his side's previous loss to the Rabbitohs.
