Indigenous elders oppose JB cruise ships, that should be enough
Regarding the possibility of cruise ships being allowed into Jervis Bay, I am surprised to read that our mayor has not decided yet as to where she stands on this issue.

If our local Indigenous Elders are opposed to this, then that should be enough for anyone. They are, after all, the custodians of the land and waters, and their views should always be respected. They are, fortunately, not dictated by monetary gain, but rather the protection of the natural environment, and that's good enough for me.

No Guile from Guile
As a long time observer, and sometime participant, in Shoalhaven politics, albeit now from afar, I must say I'm hardly surprised at the recent distribution of what is best described as 'hate mail' targeting Mayor Findey by Cr Andrew Guile.
He has consistently shown himself to be a destructive spoiler, not a constructive builder, and always a stooge for the ever-present spectre that haunts Shoalhaven Council, in Cr Watson. I have my differences on policy with the Greens but I know Amanda Findley and know her to be an honest, hard working woman of integrity who is committed to the advancement of the amenity of the Shoalhaven for all its residents. I urge voters in September to discount the parting jibes of an absentee councillor as sour grapes and return the best Mayor Shoalhaven has seen since John Hatton.

Not electioneering?
By Gareth's own admission on social media, the waste petition comes at the request of the lead candidate of a ticket for Ward 1 in the upcoming elections. At the time of registration all of the candidates on that ticket were listed as members of the Liberal Party. It is disingenuous to say the least to say this is anything other than electioneering.

Does Milton need traffic lights?
Why do we need traffic lights in Milton when we are going to have a road which will bypass our lovely town of Milton?
You have wasted the taxpayers money for a start and now we have two eyesores in our lovely town, the Traffic Lights and the Post Office that badly needs a facelift.

Commonwealth Bank move questioned
What next? You will close the Commonwealth Bank branch at Huskisson? I have had an account with you for 53 years and to say its not a busy branch is a lie.
We moved down here in 2019, I have a account with you and credit card as well. If you close the branch, it's a bloody long drive to Nowra. You will lose me. I do not like online banking and the post office does not cut it as a bank.

Flyer was offensive
I recently received an offensive flyer in my letterbox and am surprised a councillor would put his name to such a disgraceful piece of work.
Whether or not you agree or disagree with Mayor Findley, this direct attack on an elected official, is both offensive and unnecessary. It amounts to school-yard bullying and is not a well-informed way of communicating with the community.
This negativity and a direct attack on one person, demonstrates that Andrew Guile has little respect for the office or his fellow colleagues. In this day and age and current climate of respectful debate, Mr Guile would do well to withdraw it and apologise.
