At the Huskisson Sporting Field, it was the Sharks who were the first to trouble the scorers, as Gavin Dostal found the back of the net in the 29th minute.
That lead was short-lived as the hosts responded 13 minutes later through Jayden Lee - to see the teams enter half-time locked up at 1-all.
The tight affair's deadlock was broken 12 minutes from full-time when Lloyd Nash scored the Seagulls' second.
This goal proved to be the match-winner, as the hosts held on to the 2-1 victory.
The Seagulls have now secured 17 points from their past seven fixtures, to move onto 26 points and leapfrog the Sharks into third spot.
Gary Neimeier's Shoalhaven District Football Association outfit is now on 26 points, just six behind leaders Bomaderry, who downed Shoalhaven United on Saturday.
