Postponed earlier this month due to uncertainties with COVID restrictions, original ticket holders have had the opportunity to rebook their tickets for new dates this coming weekend.
Staff at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre have had their work cut out for them in reissuing tickets for the three shows which are now at 50 per cent capacity, according to the latest social distancing guidelines.
Producer Julie Fraser put the call out to the local community to come and join in the fun on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31.
"Our Saturday matinee performance at 2pm has been sold out, but some tickets become available here and there as patrons from lockdown areas realise they have to cancel their trip to the Shoalhaven," Julie said.
The best tickets can be secured for the two evening shows at 7pm Friday and Saturday night. The show runs for less than 80 minutes so it will not be a late night for patrons. Most littlies will cope with the length of this one act musical.
With visitors from Sydney, Wollongong, or Shellharbour not permitted to attend, Albatross Musical Theatre Company is encouraging as many locals as possible from the Shoalhaven to come and enjoy the show.
"If you have not been to an AMTC show before, you are in for a real treat, these kids are so talented and the music, sets and costumes are bright and colourful, it's sure to cheer us all in these times," Julie said.
Director Julie Armstrong OAM said the children have been very resilient in coping with the delay in performance and were excited to have had their final dress rehearsal last Sunday.
"Some roles had to be understudied by children who are unfortunately in lockdown areas. We are lucky to have such talented kids who were able to step up to new and additional roles to fill the vacancies at short notice," she said.
Albatross Musical Theatre Company has been running its junior musical program JAM for five years and caters for children aged between 10-15 years.
There is no cost for kids to participate and all AMTC shows are funded solely by ticket sales from previous shows. With no shows in 2020 due to COVID, AMTC is hoping to recoup some of its lost revenue and expenses through Alice in Wonderland ticket sales.
Come and join on on a trip to Wonderland. Tickets are available through the Box Office at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre or phone 4429 5757 or book online at shoalhavenentertainment.com.au.
